- Have you written your goals in SMART manner? (specific, measurable, attainable, realistically high, time based).
- Do you know the “why” behind the goals? Do others who are affected by achieving the goals know the “why” behind the goals? Identify the larger goal, mission, vision that these goals tie in to.
- Do you know the consequences if you don’t achieve the goals? This is an opportunity to be brutally honest with yourself.
- What are the obstacles you face on you path to achieving the goals? Come up with possible ways to overcome the obstacles to achieving your goals.
- Keep your goals in front of you. Write them down. Communicate them often and crisply to those who are affected by achieving the goals.
Act on the goals with your “why” clearly in mind. Communicate often and consistently.
You just may find you become more strategic in your actions and stay a little more focused to achieve those goals that are most important to you.
