These 3 characteristics of collaboration are simple. It’s smart to keep them in mind.
Where do you and the people you collaborate with spend time to openly discuss issues that pop up or plans you are actively persuing? A shared space can open up possibilities to brainstorming and innovative thinking.
Does everyone in the group share the same goals? Are you sure? This can be a deal breaker for execution. Shared goals means each person in the group believes in the goals and see how the shared goals positively impact them personally in addition to the company.
Do the goals drive to measurable results? The last thing you want is activity without results, even if those activities are performed well. Without driving toward measurable results, activities turn become an exercise, a hobby.
These characteristics of collaboration are not everything for successful collaboration but they can give you a good start.
